About Us

The Women’s PROBUS Club of North Shore Vancouver is a member Club of PROBUS CANADA, Chartered in December 10, 2007.  The Club provides monthly meetings for retired and semi-retired professional and business ladies of North and West Vancouver.  The abbreviation PROBUS is derived from PROfessional and BUSiness.  Formal presentations are made at the monthly meetings by notable speakers providing topical, interesting and intellectually stimulating food for thought.  A varying list of speakers are arranged with wide range of topics to appeal to our members.  Monthly in-person speaker meetings are held at the West Vancouver Yacht Club in West Vancouver.  Members are welcome to bring a male or female guest for a nominal fee.  Periodically throughout the year, additional events will be organized for members to participate in.

The Club is run entirely by volunteers serving on a Management Committee, and members are encouraged to volunteer and participate in the management of the club.  Communications via newsletters, notices and a website keep members up to date on the club’s programs and how to participate.

PROBUS is a local, national and international Association of retired people who come together in non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit, autonomous clubs which provide regular opportunities for members to meet others in similar circumstances, with similar levels of interest, make new friends, and maintain and expand their interests.
